Whole Body Healing Wellness Center
+ impressí design studio
Whole Body Healing Wellness Center and impressí design studio might seem like two different worlds — one focused on self healing, the other on business growth. But to me, they’re deeply connected.
Both were born from the same desire: to help you reconnect with yourself and share your purpose with the world.

I’m so glad you’re here. This space was born from my own journey of self-discovery, healing, and entrepreneurship.
Since I started my journey in 2016, I've been called to spread self-care and inner healing while supporting small businesses. A lot of things had to align for me to be here. I often marvel at how even the distractions and detours were part of the plan.

I've heard a lot of great ideas start as napkin doodles or notes. I started with a scrap sheet of paper 😅
I had a very unfulfilling job as a project manager and spent a lot of my lunches doodling at my desk. Since I was a kid, I've been very engrossed with typography, so naturally I'd doodle my name in various fonts. One day, I got really fixated on the “O” and the “R” and how they got connected in “Lorraine.” Then I took a step back and saw it: OR. What would I rather be doing? Suddenly, my mind was reeling with a long list of alternatives to my regular 9-5. That little word, “or,” has endless possibilities!
So I had the name, OR: the alternative.
At the same time, I was in school for my Masters in Business Administration, working 40+ hours a week, traveling 20% of the time, and going to classes on Friday nights and Saturdays. To say it was one of the most stressful times in my life is an understatement! Running on fumes most of the time, I ate whatever was convenient - loaded with caffeine, sugar, processed everything.
Once I finished my MBA, I decided that I was going to eat real food - no processed foods, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors - and joined a local community shared agriculture. Then I thought, If I'm being careful about what I'm putting in my body, shouldn't I be careful about what I put on my body as well?
Unable to find anything completely natural at the stores, I decided to make my own + I finally had a use for my business name. OR: the alternative could apply to skincare 😀 You could use harsh, manmade chemicals, OR the alternative is an all-natural solution that is easily absorbed by your skin and actually solves your problems.

Healing isn’t something we give to others — it’s something we awaken within ourselves. My work, whether through websites or wellness, is about facilitating experiences that help you reconnect with your purpose, your body, and your own rhythm.
I believe in simplicity, transparency, and authenticity — and that when we share our resources, everyone thrives.
Outside of business, I’m a nature lover, baker + cook, and lifelong student of self-discovery. Whether I’m walking my dog, reflecting with my Life Tracker journal, or creating something new, I’m always looking for ways to live more intentionally — and help others do the same.
This work continues to evolve as I do. The more I trust the process, the more aligned opportunities seem to unfold…

In 2019, I started meeting other wellness professionals through networking - collected them in my virtual Rolodex. This is also when I started asking myself, “What do I want?” Thanks to my business coach, I started getting more clear on my goals, direction, desires, tactics + outcomes. When you ignore yourself + your needs your whole life, answering basic questions like “what do you want?” is very difficult - for me, it was impossible at first!
After months of working with my business coach, I had a rough plan for a brick-and-mortar OR: the alternative storefront! My vision was part lounge, coffee shop vibe meets natural skincare made in-house - and you can watch us make it through a giant picture window into our kitchen! I also have a desire to support other small, local businesses, because a friend once said, “I don’t have competitors, just friends who provide the same service.” I LOVE that ideology of collaboration over competition! And so, a retail section bigger than just OR: the alternative products has always been part of my plan 🙂
Then one day, a meeting with a new member from my networking group changed my entire trajectory! He asked me if I ever thought of creating OR: the alternative as a day spa where I could exclusively use my products (like an Aveda spa) and hire some aestheticians and massage therapists.
At the time, I really didn’t put much thought into it because I did NOT want a day spa. I liked the aspect of hiring some contractors to provide “healing services” in a cozy environment. So, I took it a few steps further: What if my brick-and-mortar space was a wellness center where skincare is just one of the healing modalities? From there, I started diving into alternative healing modalities and attracting practitioners:
Yoga Instructors
Reiki Masters
Energy Healers
Sound Healers
Breathworkers
Hypnotherapists
Chiropractors
Nutritionists + Dietitians
Natural Product Makers
Massage therapists
Psychotherapists
Estheticians
Herbalists
Coaches

During the first half of 2023, since I discovered my Soul’s purpose is to build + facilitate a brick-and-mortar wellness center! So, I was in full-blown planning mode - floor plan(s), hours of operation, overhead expenses, types of services, potential partners, investors, potential practitioners + holistic makers, build-out costs, potential locations.
I got really excited, built a plan, looked for property, then decided to take a step back + let the Universe provide the timing. I've forced a lot of things into existence + to fruition, all to have them fall apart. So this time, I'm letting things unfold in Divine timing.
I remember coming up with my org statements (mission, vision, and purpose), feeling like such an imposter - like I haven't fully embodied my purpose yet - Do I really create safe spaces? Do people feel safe with me? Do others see me as a connector? Do others think of me as a facilitator? Am I a good communicator & share my resources?
Stay connected
However you choose to connect — through our online shop, local wellness pop-ups, or your own healing rituals — I’m grateful you’re here. Together, we’re building a community that honors the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.
💙 Lorraine
